I was diagnosed about 2.5 years ago and I must admit, the second twelve months was in many ways a lot harder than the first, due to feeling depressed far more frequently ('hey, when they mean 'forever', that really means forever!'). But talking about it, especially with people going through the same as you makes a world of difference in dealing with it all.
diabetesstation.org is a cool site that holds weeking chat rooms on various topics. Its US based, so the timing of the sessions may not be great for you, but it gets about a million hits a month so it is a pretty good little support thing for those times when it sucks just a little too much.
