Feeding the blamers?

Ok, I just read something... a friend fwd'd a lnk to it to me (with a joke we've all heard too many times about what we must have eaten as kids. She was kidding, but too many people aren't.). I'm sure they make some good points, and that looking into this may well benefit people... but I can't help feeling that it's going to feed the people who in their patronising 'well intentioned' manner, decide to tell us T1 is brought on by eating McDonalds.

Ok, I am a little over sensitive about that at the moment, so maybe I'm just tetchy... but my 8 yr old cousin was recently dx w/D, and someone said to her mother within days, "Come now, you must have done SOMETHING, it's been proven that parental over feeding causes diabetes. Do you find it hard to sleep now?" Now her mum can give as good as she gets, and fired back with both barrels... but not everyone has her nature. (& for the record this woman knows darned well that my little cousin has always been slightly underweight, and is a very active kid).
