I went to the talk from Alan Bolton on exercise and was VERY VERY concerned that the audience of people were either below 14 yrs or around  35-40. There was only 1 other young adult eg 20+yrs in attendance [FYI: I’ve had reports back from 5 – ed.]........you all MUST realise that exercise is the very best thing for your health
I CHALLENGE and urge the people who do Yada Yada newsletter to focus on exercise in the Newsletter and organises so regular fun exercise rather than Just pub nights (which are good 2)
Who's with me on this one and who's not ??????

A few words from Monique & Kate:

OK. Reality Check: It’s winter, we are apparently young and uninterested in sport, the Olympics and hence the armchair season is about to begin, so here’s our ideas for enhancing what exercise we normally do!

The unassuming exercise regime...

  • It’s cold, it’s wet, I wanna stay in bed - therefore enhance your exercise regime by having more sex.
  • Put yourself to the test: deliberately lose your remote control, so you have to get up to change the channel (works better if you get a close relative to lose it)
  • Now that the holidays are on, and exams are nearly over - hit more nightclubs - great winter activity.
  • What about cooking for other people - it keeps you on your toes, you get a coordination workout, and people are impressed with you - and there’s nothing like a winter’s evening cooking your own meal accompanied by a big glass of red wine.
  • Bring all your spare mattresses into the lounge room and stage your very own Celebrity Death Match.  Not only do you get an amazing work out for every muscle in your body, but you can then lie exhausted on the imported padding and watch the rest of the evening’s TV (only pausing to get up to change the channel of course.)
  • Put on every item of clothing you own (aka Joey from Friends in the 'Commando' episode) and take down the street to pick up some milk.  A sauna and exercise at the same time.
Other than that we know you’re all big kids who don’t need to be told what to do.  Unless you’ve had your head under a rock since birth you will know that exercise is good for you and you should be doing it.  If you do happen to have any super interesting stories or info to do with diabetes and exercise send ‘em on in.  But guilt trips aren’t our style!
