| Advice about a "rave"
Wow- I was really excited to discover your page - very cool, please keep me updated! My name is Denise and after mammoth weight loss and all the usual symptoms I was diagnosed with the big D while on a uni break/holiday in New Zealand about two months ago. My sugar levels were 47 and are now about 7/12ish. I have had about six hypos recently and seem to be handling them OK although they obviously piss me off. I really do feel I need some type of support and am sick of hearing about "normal" and "manageable" - what the fuck is normal about popping jellybeans every five seconds during a game of B'ball etc etc etc!!! I really need some advice about a "rave" I am attending this weekend.
Do I skip the overnight insulin altogether? How do other groovsters
handle late nights and full-on dancin? What about other lifestyle issues???
How do I safely dance for about three hours like a maniac? It would
be like totally awesome to go out and have a really good time without
feeling terrified of blacking out and carrying my glucose thingy. I
am 27 years old, married (happily!) with two dogs and studying social
work (final year) I forgot to mention. Thanks, --Denise Collinson And then later.... Hi - I had a fantastic night out, it was just what I needed to lift
me out of a wee depression. While my friends had extasy, I chomped a
few of the fruit bars you suggested and drank raspberry cordial. My
levels were 6 when I arrived, and 10 when I left (at 4am) and I danced
like a crazy woman for about three hours. I will write a little story
for the newsletter and E-mail it to you somewhere between now and tomorrow
evening. |
