Type 1 Diabetes

Hi all,

I was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and would like to meet other T1's in the Sydney area. I'm not sure if monthly groups already exist or if we can just organise it through here, but I'd like to get involved!

I'm certainly keen Mel. I don't think the Sydney group meets up as much a s others and pretty sure there isn't a regular meeting but maybe you are onto something...

Hi all,
its been a very long time since I was on here but Im interested in meeting up :)

We could do the cafe's near the Central Station Eddy Av exit as there are a few places for food/coffee nearby and then walk across the road to the park to sit and drink/eat/talk?
If we end up with 8+ ppl finding a table in a cafe would be nigh impossibile :P

Also what time is good for everyone? 6pm?
This Wednesday (29/2 - leap year FTW :)), or next (7/3)?

Hi all,
I think we are better of leaving this for NEXT Wednesday as tomorrow is too late to confirm numbers.
To kick this thing off again I propose what I suggested earlier:

Date: Wednesday 7/03
Time: 6pm
Location: Central Station - Eddy Ave exit near the florist
There are cafe's and places to get food (or bring your own :)) nearby plus the park across the street to sit and chill out.

I'd love to come to the meet up! If we all mill about the florist at the Eddy Ave exit I guess we'll figure out we're all there for the meet up. Otherwise, a sign...?

OK, so I'll be looking out for a NovoCare record book and a lost group of Diabetics will I? I will be coming straight from work but I have brought a change of clothes due to good summer weather, so i'll be in shorts and good old boat shoes he he.

Sorry for the late reply - four of us did meet up. We sat in the park and then got food in the city.

Hi, I'm 30 and was just diagnosed with type 1 last week after 2 magnificent years travelling the world. I was in Thailand at the time and thought I was just really thirsty ;-)

Would love to meet others to share stories, get more info and learn how people live, play, work with this condition.
