Any one interested in a Sydney meet?

Postby straygaijin » Sun Oct 02, 2011 11:48 am

We had a meet in March which was quite enjoyable. Seems like we have a few more Sydney based people on this forum now and was wondering if there was interest in having another meet before the end of the Year.

How does Sunday Dec 4th sound as a possible date to meet? It's before a lot of the work christmas parties will have got into full swing but close enough that it can be our celebration and also we can share tricks about how to survive the party season! We can chose a different date if that is not convenient.

Last time we met at the King St Brewhouse in Darling Harbour which was quite a good venue - close to Wynyard station, plenty of outdoor space and no worries about how long we can stay there. Unless someone has a better suggestion, I would be happy enough to use the same venue. Just because it is a brewhouse does not mean that you need to drink - non-drinkers are very welcome also.

How interested are people in meeting up?

I've moved this to the meet forum. And sorry, it;s no go for me - it's a very big wedding anniversary for me.

I would definitely be interested in a Sydney 'meet'. A big steak and a cool refreshment at Kings Street Wharf in the summer sun sounds good to me!

I have a few questions about the venue.

1) What is parking like? (I dislike Sydney public transport and would rather drive)

and

2) Are there TV's there that a more than likely going to be showing the V8 Supercars Sydney race?

I am interested in going but not sure if I am going to Homebush for the V8s yet...

According to http://www.ksw.com.au/content/5/parking_info, closest parking is a couple of minutes away.

They have a big screen showing sports and other tv's around the place. Whether they are showing the V8 or not I couldn't tell you!

I haven't been to a meet for ages, but King St wharf sounds good, I should be able to make it.

So would we like to pen in a date for a Sydney meet?

That date mentioned is good for me.

So Sunday 4th Dec at the King St Brewhouse, from say noon? I'll try and get the same outside table that we got last time.

Hope to see lots of you there!

So I'll try and snag one of the large outdoor tables and I will have a copy of "Pumping Insulin" on the table in front of me.

My number is 0459 243 336 if you can't find me.
