Confectionary Heros!

Postby Tash » Fri Jun 01, 2007 6:13 pm

Ok... at work today we had a new 'word' for the Schoolies to draw (every month I get a parent to suggest a word that they would like to see my class draw)...

Anyhoo... today the parents picked the word... HERO... and I was quite excited to see what the children would come up with.. secretly hoping I wouldnt end up with a mass of pictures of Superman and Batman!...

I was plesantly suprised when I saw pictures of nurses and life savers... but had to laugh when two of my 9 year old charges presented me with a picture of a 'Super Jelly Bean' complete with cape!... and under the picture it said....

'It saves Miss Tash's Life.... It saves Diabeticals!'

How darn cute is that?? *grins*

Awww. How adorable.
I love it when the rug rats process it and come up with the cute interpretation. One of the munchkins once refered to my BGL machine as Mrs H's blood calculator.

Love it! That is very cute, and also kinda reassuring to know that if anything happened the kids could help you too!

I'm with you Artemis !

I'd much rather be a Diabetical.

Thanks Tash, that's such a reassuring post. You've made an impact in educating about T1D :)

I was actually thinking about posting the drawing *grins*... Ill just need to access a coloured scanner (only black n white at work).... and then hopefully Bill can stick it somewhere for me to put a link... Im sooooo not good at all that stuff...so will have to rely on emailing it to someone who knows what to do! *angelic smile*

I caught myself randomly using the word diabetical in a sentence today. ;) I like it a lot. Seems less harsh then he's diabetIC and easier than he has diabetes. Good one.

PS Would love to see the pic one day if you can get anywhere near a scanner and parent's permission etc.

I had a big time nypo early this morning. I was hardly able to talk but woke The Bear and told him I was having a diabetical moment. The word really sticks doesn't it. I think I'm going to be a diabetical from now on. It could be the word that seperates T2 from T1.
