I have huge ethical issues with selling medical devices that have been paid for by government or private health insurance and being provided without proper training but curious to know if it's actually illegal ABS-perhaps make you liable to be sued if it all goes horribly wrong?? Anyone know for sure?

I guess where the 'reasonable offer' covered postage only, you'd be right!!

This pump is no longer for sale.

I'd be prepared to bet that it is not illegal. The pump companies certainly don't want you to do this, and the medical profession will see a risk to this, but whether there is actually *legislation* that says it is illegal to sell a medical device is another question. My local pharmacist seems unable to tell the difference between legislation and pharmacy board guidelines with respect to giving out multiple repeats, so I'm reasonable sure this is similar.

I'm interested if it is legal as well Mel - so abs if you find it please share.

I absolutely agree regarding the ethical issues here. The device would have no warranty either.

Full disclosure - I have given away (not even charged for the postage) an old pump to someone on here who was in a desperate situation (old pump out of warranty and a wait of 2 weeks until their health insurance would come through for the new one, and couldn't get a loaner from memory).

That said, is it illegal to sell an old transmitter? I brought it with my own money, no government subsidy.
